We Will Focus On...

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is about learning to be present in the current moment, intentionally and without judgment.  As we become more mindful, we become less focused on the past and the future, and more centered on what’s happening in the moment.
The present moment is where we are most able to influence what we think and feel in order to feel effective and connected with ourselves and the world around us.

Validation

Validation is the practice of acknowledging and accepting our own experience, as well as the experiences of others.  When we deny what's happening within ourselves or with other people, we suffer. We get stuck. We fight reality and exhaust ourselves. The truth is, we don’t have to like the things that cause us pain in order to accept them.
Learning to recognize and accept what's happening, in and around us, lessens the pain that comes with feeling stuck and helpless. Living becomes less of a struggle.

Body Based Therapy

Our bodies are an essential component of our lived experience because our minds and our bodies are intricately connected.
Many of us struggle with a divide between what our minds know and what our hearts believe. We may be able to tell ourselves that we are worthy of loving relationships, or that bad experiences are in the past, but we struggle with believing those things to be true, particularly in moments of stress or struggle. Bringing the body into the therapy process helps us access the root of those painful beliefs and bring new information, awareness, and compassion into our experience of ourselves. If
we want to grow and transform, our bodies must be along for the ride.
